The magnificently sculpted mantel clock, over 80 cm tall, uses many Rococo motifs. It is adorned with flowers as well as crowned with an eagle holding a portrait medallion. Large mythological figures arrange themselves around the clock face above the Saxonian-Polish coat of arms. Power, strength, and the riches of the land are symbolized by ancient Gods such as Athena, Mars, Flora and Demeter. The side walls and the dome at top are created in rich perforated basketry while a winged woman figure standing on a sphere with a star over her head carries an hour glass to remind us that time is always running and everything has an end.
